What Is The Best Subaru? Choosing A Used Car That Will Suit Your Style
A vehicle is a big investment, not only because it can cost a lot of money, but because it can have an impact on your life for years to come.
Choosing the right vehicle will provide you with more than just a reliable ride to work and back.
The right car or SUV to suit your lifestyle will open up opportunities for family trips, outdoor adventures, and travel to interesting places both near and far.
It will also make sure you never have to worry about being stuck on the side of the road, or that you can help out someone who is.
Over the years, I’ve learned that one of the best things I can do to make sure I’m getting a quality used vehicle, is stick to a top-performing brand that has the power, reliability, and safety features to help it retain much of its original value.
You read the title of the article though, you already know that this is going to be about Subarus, so let’s get to the good stuff — how do you choose the best one?
Now is when I type “which Subaru will suit you will depend on your needs and lifestyle,” but I won’t lie — I have a clear favourite, and I’ll tell you why, but we’ll get to that.
Let’s start with a few top-quality contenders, that I would certainly trust my family in on any road trip:
- The Impreza
If you’re looking for a safe, small, practical car with excellent fuel efficiency and lots of legroom, the Impreza may be for you.
It has all the great safety and power features that Subaru is known for, in an affordable and efficient package, that’s also available with a manual transmission if you like that extra bit of control.
When your priority is a comfortable ride, the Legacy has your back.
While it’s a little slower to get-up-and-go, the Legacy makes up for it with a smooth ride, comfortable interior, spacious storage and passenger space, and a top-notch media system.
3. The Outback
Offroad driving? That’s no problem for the Outback.
With good road clearance and extremely responsive steering, you can feel comfortable in this SUV whether you’re on the road, in the ditch, or blasting through the mud.
It’s also strong enough to tow whatever you need, and doesn’t compromise on the luxurious interior.
4. The Forester
If you want all the safety features, visibility, and control, with the ability to take them off-road, you might want a Forester.
High-tech meets rough and rugged in this SUV, with the added benefit of amazing fuel efficiency and an absolutely ridiculous amount of cargo space.
The only downside to a Forester is that even at the premium end, they’re not the most luxurious vehicles on the road, so if that’s a dealbreaker, you may want to keep on reading.
Saving the best for last, the Crosstek is the best of all worlds — that’s not just my opinion, either.
The Kelly Blue Book (KBB) hands out a ton of awards every year to various vehicles, and the Subaru Crosstek really takes the cake.
This compact SUV holds its value better than other Subaru on the market, and that’s saying a lot for a company that’s well known for vehicles that keep their value.
It’s perfect for driving around town, but isn’t shy about going offroad.
Add that to excellent cargo space, a comfortable cabin, and fully loaded electronics — and you have my personal pick for the best used car on the market.
Now that you’ve heard my opinions, there’s only one thing left to do before driving off in a reliable used car of your own.
Nothing will tell you more about a vehicle than taking it for a test drive, and you can’t do that over the internet.
My advice is to head to your local dealership, Subaru specifically if you want the safety and reliability that can give you real peace of mind, and give a few different models a test drive.
What’s perfect for me may not be your cup of tea, but in my experience, there’s a Subaru model out there for everyone.
